Bayern Munich have signed French striker Mathys Tel from Stade Rennes. This was announced by the German record champions on Tuesday. The Munich team did not provide any information regarding the duration of the contract for the 17-year-old.
According to media reports, the teenager is said to have signed a five-year contract. According to reports, the captain of France’s U17 national team will cost a transfer fee of up to 30 million euros.
“One of the Greatest Talents”
“Mathys Tel is one of the greatest talents in Europe, a very fast, technically strong and versatile striker,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “The development of such an extraordinary young player is an exciting project for all of us. We are all convinced that he has a great career ahead of him and that he will help our team.”
The teenager has not yet been able to present himself permanently at the first division level. The Sturmjuwel completed seven short appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes. After Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus Turin) as well as Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch (both Ajax Amsterdam), Tel is the fifth new signing from Munich this summer. ÖFB team player Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) is another candidate.
