Monkeypox: No cases reported among South Korean nationals overseas

SEOUL, July 26 (Yonhap) — No cases of monkeypox infection have been reported among South Korean nationals overseas, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

“We see that there are no reported cases at South Korean missions overseas,” a ministry official said, adding that the ministry is closely monitoring the situation.

The ministry has published monkeypox precautions for overseas travel on its official website and is sending SMS safety tips to South Koreans traveling to countries affected by the communicable disease, the official said.

These are 34 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain and Sweden, where more than 10 cases of infections have been reported among 63 countries affected by the epidemic.
