While we thought that a character pool would be unlocked for all players from the launch of the game, things have become complicated recently. Indeed, First Player Games announced that the free characters would actually only be a rotation. We explain everything to you in this article.

Free characters are actually not permanently unlocked!

When you came to the game from its launch, you might see that besides Wonder Woman that you unlock by doing the game tutorial, four others were available for free: Sammy, Taz, Jake and Harley Quinn. We thought then that these characters were unlocked for everyone.

Moreover, if we take a look in the collection, we had a confirmation of this idea, no mention being made that the gratuity of these characters is temporary. Even worse, on the page of these characters, there is no mention of buying them. From then on, we all assumed that these characters were the ones offered to everyone at the start of the game.

A functioning that raises questions

Except that this weekend, an announcement made a lot of noise. Indeed, these characters are not permanently unlocked, but they are part of a rotation. Thereby, every week on Tuesday four more different characters will be temporarily unlocked for free to all players.

From Tuesday, it is Superman, Finn, Garnet and Chien-Renne that everyone will be able to play on MultiVersus. But what annoys a lot of players, it’s the fact of finding yourself “trapped” in having to buy back one or more characters on Tuesday if they want to play them. It’s even more frustrating because we don’t even know how much these characters will sell for in terms of gold coins.

Even worse, imagine the players who cracked and bought a skin on their character. As of Tuesday, they will probably find themselves without this characterwaiting to have to pay once more in gold coins or having to go to the cash register once more (knowing that the purchase price in Gleamium for a character is around €7).
