Financial scam: An American box will reimburse injured customers in Switzerland
The Next-Gen company had promised eye-watering payouts to millions of people, but never paid them.
Since 2013, America’s Next-Gen Company has misled millions of people around the world with promises of financial gain. The State Secretariat for the Economy (SECO) recalled on Monday that the firm had contacted people in writing to make them dangle a fabulous gain in return for payment of a financial advance.
Many people, including some domiciled in Switzerland, responded to Next-Gen’s offer and paid the amount demanded, while the company, for its part, never paid anything. SECO does not specify the exact number of victims listed in Switzerland.
25 million donated
In 2018, the US Consumer Protection Authority (FTC) initiated legal proceedings in the United States once morest Next-Gen executives. As part of an out-of-court settlement, the company agreed in early 2019 to pay millions of dollars. Nearly $25 million is now being used by the FTC to reimburse injured parties for part of the amount paid to Next-Gen.
Victims of the scam residing in Switzerland can also benefit from this reimbursement procedure. These refunds will be made through PayPal. The FTC will write to those affected in the coming months regarding the terms. The deadline to apply for the refund is October 17.
For more information on the refund procedure, it is possible to consult the FTC website: www.ftc.gov (see in particular the press release of July 19, 2022, Next-Gen Refund, as well as the frequently asked questions regarding refunds).
