Fatburger, the burger of the stars arrives in Mexico

They call him that because among his partners are stars like the basketball player Magic Johnsonactress and singer Queen Latifah, Kanye West and the singer Pharrell. And it has appeared in movies like Rat Race y Get a Joband in the series Trying, from AppleTV+.

MILLENNIUM talked with Sergio Méndez, CEO and co-founder of the Red Rombo restaurant groupregarding the history of bringing the brand to Mexican lands, since they consider that this market is very broad and without a doubt a company that can contribute much more to the flavor and variety of hamburgers, family unity and inclusion in all senses.

“Fatburger has more than 200 branches in the United States, we met one of the owners in Mexico, we traveled there and visited the place; It is always full, and the hamburger is something spectacular: flavor, quality and the experience that the brand provides. It is present in Japan and Canada and they have been very successful; Mexico is a country with a maturing market that is looking for new experiencesSergio explained.

Red Rombo is betting on Fatburger to be its flagship brandthat they begin to generate more presence in other parts of the United States, which was more focused on Las Vegas and California, however they are reaching Florida, Texas and, of course, growing in other places such as Mexico, taking care of their standards quality, so the same inputs originally come from the northern country.

Sergio Méndez explains what are the characteristics that make the newcomer’s hamburgers so special:

Fatburger has its twist, starting with the size, 30 percent larger than an industry standard; It’s 150 grams of meat. In addition, the brand comes with a collaboration with Buffalo’s that are wings, whose success comes from their sauces. We offer this mix: burgers and wings, combined with onion rings, French fries, milkshakes, which makes it a more extensive menu.”

The brand seeks to cover diverse audiences and be inclusive in many ways, which is why there is a children’s menu, as well as healthy options with turkey, whole wheat bread and vegetarian options: its Beyond option without animal products.

“It goes with wholemeal bread, Beyond meat and vegan milkshakes, because we know that the market is increasingly demanding, and we want to cover diversity,” said Sergio.

Fatburger is in an expansion plan for Mexico, it will start with two stores in CdMx in 2022, and then it will arrive in Querétaro, Guadalajara, Monterrey.
