A house collapsed in the north of Rosario and three people were trapped

A three-story house collapsed in the northern part of the city, in the Alberdi neighborhood, and three people were trapped in the rubble, two of whom were rescued.

The accident occurred in Superí al 200, almost Álvarez Thomas, in front of Santos Dumont square, in a house on the ravine that might be seen both from the square and from the Puccio descent bridge and from Eudoro Carrasco avenue.

Although the Volunteer Fire Department indicated that there were two individuals in the rubble, Sies confirmed that three people were trapped. A man (an octogenarian identified as Luis) was rescued just following 8 pm and was assisted by paramedics in one of the ambulances that arrived at the site of the collapse.

The deputy director of Civil Defense of the Municipality of Rosario, Gonzalo Ratner, confirmed that “two people were treated by Sies personnel” and “at least one person remains” was trapped in the rubble.

Several Sies ambulances came immediately, as did a dozen police patrol cars and a Litoral Gas mobile. Later, two volunteer firefighters and the Brec Brigade (Search and Rescue in Collapsed Structures) arrived.

According to testimonies from neighbors, the house completely collapsed causing a great noise that was heard throughout the area. They indicated that a man lived there with his son and a tenant on the upper floor, regarding 30 years old and named Facundo, who would continue to be trapped in the rubble.
