A young woman found a dead reptile in her sandwich ordered at McDonald’s in Saint-Witz in Val-d’Oise in February 2021. She is suing the brand.

On February 12, 2021, following biting into her sandwich, the young woman realizes that something is wrong, and spits it out immediately. It is by opening it that she and her friend discover the little lizard. On their way to McDonald’s, the employees seemed unsurprised, she said.
A hearing two years later
Nauseated the next day, the client goes to her doctor and takes antibiotics. She also stopped breastfeeding her son, then 8 months old, for fear of endangering him. She contacts a lawyer, who keeps the reptile in a fridge and carries out various analyses, then files a complaint for “endangering the lives of others”. The hearing will take place in February 2023, i.e. two years following the events, and will be held at the Pontoise court according to information from The Dispatch.
The management of the sign, it, ensures that an “internal investigation was immediately carried out at the time of the facts”, and that it did not highlight “any non-compliance”.
