The 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster, which produced regarding 2,000 units between 1988 and 1989, is a rare model in the world. The 356 Speedster is homaged, and the front window is laid low, and the rear is characterized by a soft top cover called a double bubble, but this time we will introduce a garage in Tokyo where such a Speedster fits.
A 5-story building in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the nearest station. It used to be a busy area with offices, but recently the company has moved due to the appearance of new office buildings, and old buildings have more empty space. However, renovating a multi-tenant building with such an atmosphere into an office or a residence seems to be becoming more popular.
Speedster owner T, who was looking for a property with a garage in Tokyo, also bought it in 2009, paying attention to the five-story building where he currently lives. Since the building was built in 1970, it was already 40 years old at the time of purchase, but there was an indescribable atmosphere and he wanted to renovate the house with a built-in garage.

Built-in garage in a 40-year-old building
The garage was renovated by “Stardy Style First Class Architect Office (currently 4D / GROUND WORK Co., Ltd.)”, and Mr. Tsukamoto and Mr. T, the representatives, have been friends for regarding 30 years. Met. In terms of space, it is a space that can accommodate 4 cars, but I consulted that I would like to put 2 Porsche in there. Until now, it was an open car space without doors, but a wooden overslider was installed and the walls were painted in matt black. I was particular regarding the lighting in the garage.
For the garage door, we ordered a non-standard size of 4m wide and 3.8m high from “World Garage Door”, which handles wooden garage doors. A steel frame was put in to install the rail. Garage floor only repairs cracks without major changes. Then I put in the aluminum desk I bought at IKEA to create a workspace.
For Mr. T, who used to live in an apartment, the time to wash the car was a blissful time to look at his car. Currently, I was able to put the car in the garage, so the number of times I wash the car has decreased, but Mr. T, who likes car washing, seems to be particular regarding the car wash kit. Actually, “It would be great if we might wash the car in the garage, but since there is no slope, we stretch the hose in front of the garage,” says Mr. T.
Upstairs are residences and offices
Mr. T’s home is on the 3rd and 4th floors of a 5-story building, the office is on the 5th floor, and the 2nd floor of the building is a rental space of regarding 51 square meters. The simple, white walls, pop-colored sofas, and beautifully designed furniture such as cartel tables make this a very fashionable space that suits the atmosphere of Mr. and Mrs. T.
In the living room, there was a shoji screen that suggests that it was a Japanese-style room before the renovation, and Mr. T’s other hobby, the guitar, was displayed. Mr. T bought a used building and renovated it cleanly to complete the garage. Since the budget was allocated to the living room, I got a nice garage by devising the walls and floor of the garage to keep costs down. The speed start that fits in a modern space, the Porsche Cayenne that I use everyday, suits Tokyo very well.
