According to the earthquake report of the Earthquake Prediction Center of the Central Meteorological Administration, the 5.2-scale earthquake occurred 65.8 kilometers north-northeast of Taitung County Government, that is, in the coastal waters of Taitung County, with a depth of 29.6 kilometers.
The maximum earthquake intensity in various places was 4 in Taitung County, 3 in Hualien, 2 in Nantou, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, Yunlin, Tainan, Changhua and other places, and 1 in Pingtung, Taichung, Yilan, Miaoli, Hsinchu, Xinbei and other places.
In addition, at 6:40 a.m., an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale occurred 24.0 kilometers north-northeast of the Yilan County Government, near the coast of Yilan County, with a depth of 102.2 kilometers.
