Postponed for a year because of the pandemic, the Sexion d’Assaut tour finally takes place this summer. Last night, the stop in the arenas of Nîmes pleasantly marked the public. Eight years later, the reformed group made the show by interpreting its main successes.
To warm up the public during this penultimate evening of the Nîmes festival, it was Imen Es who first went on stage. The 24-year-old singer arrived performing attack, her flagship title certified gold in 2018. Sparkling, the native of Sevran does the job, perched on her pink high heels before getting comfortable in sandals. She is then joined by Abou Debeing, “my big brother and producer”confides the young artist.
This 33-year-old rapper previously worked under the Wati B label as Sexion d’Assaut. The duo shares several songs. After 45 minutes of performance, Imen Es ends with a resumption of For you to love me once more ? by Celine Dion, a piece sung with her big sister. Then following a few minutes of break, it is the turn of the Sexion d’Assaut to take over. Nine years later, the collective of rappers is back on the stage of the Festival de Nîmes.
They are now seven to compose the group: Gims, Barack, Lefa, Maska, Doomams, JR O Crom and Black M. In addition to this event tour, the Parisian rappers are preparing a new album entitled: Return of the Kings. While waiting for new sounds, they took the public back ten years with all the hits that made them successful under the eyes, behind the scenes, of professional boxer Tony Yoka (Olympic champion) present last night.
Going from one album to another, Stroll, Cap upside down et Paris is good first resounded in the arenas. Between the pieces of the group, the four artists who led a solo career each performed their flagship title. Maska started then Lefa followed by Black M who unleashed the public with the unmissable On my road. After throwing a pogo in the pit, Alpha Diallo, his real name, ended up shirtless.
The opportunity to start a quartet of great classics of French song from the 2010s. In chorus, the public took over Ma direction before get in the mood on Bella et Known like never before of the one who is no longer a master, but only Gims. No emblematic Sexion song has been forgotten. After Wati house, Wati by night which tells regarding Saturday night parties and the classic sorrythe concert ended on the melancholy Before she left. A message of love to close 1h40 of show (25 songs) in a crowded and happy amphitheater.
