Jonas Vingegaard is virtual champion of the Tour de France. The Danish cyclist fulfilled his mission, despite risking, and added his best victory as a cycling professional. He was second in the final time trial following Wout Van Aert, and had no problem keeping up with Tadej Pogacar who had it really difficult since the Hautacam stage.
The 21st and final day should not be a problem for Vingegaard. It is a festive stage, full of joy for the champion and that only has the danger of the massive end. Vingegaard, with more than three minutes to go, will close his first Grand Tour with maximum solidity.
Wout Van Aert won his third victory in the 2022 Tour de France by winning the spectacular Rocamadour time trial. Endos 19 seconds to Jonas Vingegaard, that until the last intermediate point commanded in all times. Third finished Tadej Pogacar, from less to more in the route of just over 40 kilometers.
The general suffers changes in the fifth position. The Russian Vlasov rises to fifth place following beating Nairo Quintana. Meintjes also falls, to eighth in the table. Above, Vingegaard is virtual champion with 3:34 lead over Tadej Pogacar and 8:13 with Geraint Thomas.
