Tagliafico, 29, who capped 40 caps for Argentina, had been at Ajax since January 2018.
He began his career in Argentina with Banfield in the 2010-2011 season before being loaned the following season to Spain for the second-tier club Real Murcia. Then he wore the colors of Independiente since 2015, and for three years, where he won the Sudamericana Cup title in 2017.
With Ajax, Tagliafico won the Eredivisie three times (2019, 2021 and 2022), the Cup twice (2019 and 2021) and also contributed to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2019.
However, he played only 22 matches in the local league with the Dutch capital club last season, scoring two goals, following losing his place in the starting lineup.
With the “Albiceleste” team, the new Lyon player won the South American Cup (Copa America) in 2021 following participating in five of the seven matches.
