In the office instead of in the intensive care unit
Selenski denies rumors of “serious illness”
There are always rumors that Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin is seriously ill. Now there are also rumors that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is suffering from an illness. He reacts directly and clearly.
Rumors of Vladimir Putin’s (69) serious illness have been circulating for a long time – and once more and once more. The Kremlin is reticent and does not comment on the president’s private affairs.
Now the message is being spread that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is seriously ill, even in the intensive care unit of a hospital. The President of Ukraine reacts to this personally.
“So here I am in the office”
“I wish you all good health. Russia today released more fake news that President Zelensky is not governing the state because he is in hospital, or rather in intensive care, due to his serious health condition. So here I am in the office, »says Selenksi in a video message.
And further: “I’ve never felt so healthy as now.” Several radio stations of the company TAVR Media – a Ukrainian media company – had reported that Zelenskiy was seriously ill. But it was propaganda. The transmitter had previously been hacked.
Shortly therefollowing, it was emphasized: “The information regarding the state of health of President Volodymyr Zelensky is incorrect.” Russian hackers are suspected behind it.
Such reports are calculated. Both Moscow and Kyiv are spreading misinformation that cannot be independently verified. The goal is to lower the morale of the other side.
Putin has a cold
Russia, too, has now denied such rumors regarding its own head of state. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov (54) recently emphasized: “Everything is fine with Putin’s health.” However, he has a cold.
This is said following Putin coughed during a visit to Iran. “He caught a slight cold during the visit because he was sitting directly under the air conditioner,” it says. Otherwise he is doing very well. (eu)
