President Gabriel Boric received the Condors at La Moneda Palace following winning his place in the Rugby World Cup ‘France 2023’

The Condors visited this Friday the Palace of La Moneda to be received by the President Gabriel Boric, following achieving a historic qualification for the Rugby World Cup ‘France 2023’.

The team led by Pablo Lemoine achieved an exciting victory over the United States, 31-29 in Denver, the first qualification in its history for an Adult World Cup. They will play in Group D with England, Argentina, Samoa and Japan.

Also present at the meeting was the Minister of Sports, Alexandra Benado, who last Tuesday gave a boost to the national team. The Secretary of State promised the Chilean XV to give the National Stadium as the stage for their next matches, mainly the preparatory ones for the event in September and October next year on Gallic soil.

After the meeting at the seat of government, the selected José Ignacio Larenas declared that “thank you for the visit, it is a very nice instance. Over time we realize how transversal the achievement has been, beyond the close group”.

It was a pleasant and very close meeting. We hope that it will be the definitive takeoff of the development of rugby throughout the country. It is an intense but very respectful sport”.

Regarding the commitment to the Condors, the head of the portfolio said that “we are going to support the process that is coming to prepare for the World Cup and the improvement of the infrastructure of the CAR of La Reina, we will try to design a good project. It is essential to improve the pitch.”
