The Condors visited this Friday the Palace of La Moneda to be received by the President Gabriel Boric, following achieving a historic qualification for the Rugby World Cup ‘France 2023’.
The team led by Pablo Lemoine achieved an exciting victory over the United States, 31-29 in Denver, the first qualification in its history for an Adult World Cup. They will play in Group D with England, Argentina, Samoa and Japan.
Also present at the meeting was the Minister of Sports, Alexandra Benado, who last Tuesday gave a boost to the national team. The Secretary of State promised the Chilean XV to give the National Stadium as the stage for their next matches, mainly the preparatory ones for the event in September and October next year on Gallic soil.
After the meeting at the seat of government, the selected José Ignacio Larenas declared that “thank you for the visit, it is a very nice instance. Over time we realize how transversal the achievement has been, beyond the close group”.
“When we lose we are few and when we win we are many. We are feeling all the effects of this achievement, we are assimilating and appreciating it”, she added.
