Lewandowski cites Guardiola to adapt to Barcelona
The transfer of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich to Barcelona is still important, despite the end of the long series with the transfer of the Poland captain to the Camp Nou.
Lewandowski reached his goal by moving to Barcelona, following pressuring Bayern Munich to agree to the deal, in which the Bavarian giant got 50 million euros, which is a great price given the age of Lewandowski, who turns 34 next August, and his contract was still only one season left.
Lewandowski explained the reason behind his strong desire to wear the Blaugrana shirt, during video statements broadcast by Barcelona’s official account on social media.
Lewandowski makes a precious promise to Barcelona fans
Lewandowski told Barcelona’s website: “I knew this project had a very good future, although the last few years had been difficult when they called me, I didn’t think regarding it because I knew it was the right time I’m here to do my best and help the team to be in the top”.
He added, “The step he took has a huge advantage because I left a champion team like Bayern Munich to another team trying to win titles and return to the European elite following many failures in the Champions League in recent years.”
The Pole continued: “I want to give Barcelona fans a lot of joy. I want to make them happy as they already were, or even more so because they support the team whether things go well or not.”
And he added: “The fans are always there, they try to support the team, and this season we will try to give the fans as much happiness as possible.”
On his adaptation to Barcelona’s way of playing: “Pep Guardiola trained me, so I think it will be easier for me to adapt to Barcelona. I am a person who loves to listen following my first conversation with Xavi. I already knew his idea and mentality. I think I am ready and confirmed that I am excited to work with him.”
