Father of four thought he had Corona – but he had an incurable brain tumor | News

Matthew Ellis (33) gave birth to four children. Now he must say goodbye to his own.

The Briton has an incurable brain tumor and not long to live. A fundraiser was set up to take his family on vacation one last time.

The fate of the 33-year-old – dramatic!

In 2017, the man from Netherfields (northern England) was diagnosed with skin cancer for the first time. After the all-clear, doctors gave Ellis only six months to live in 2020 because the cancer had spread. But the father of four fought and believed that he had the disease under control.

At an unspecified time in 2022, Matthew Ellis was complaining of a severe headache and malaise. He was admitted to the emergency room at James Hook Hospital in Middlesbrough with apparent symptoms of Covid. There the shock diagnosis: several brain tumors, some of which are inoperable.

His wife Lauren told regional news outlet Teesside Live: “The melanoma is spreading so fast he had to have surgery last week. But then the tumor in his brain bled.” The bleeding might only have been stopped with 40 staples in his head.

Overall, the condition of the worker in a biomass power plant has deteriorated sharply in recent months. For a holiday together, the family launched a fundraiser at Gofundme. It is already the second action of this kind, which explains the rather reserved help so far. Within four days, the equivalent of only around 420 euros came together. The target sum is 5900 euros.

The family of six with their children Leo (10), Lola (9), Luca (5) and Lorena (1) want to use the money to go on vacation for the last time. The fundraiser for terminally ill Matthew Ellis can be found here.
