Restrictions to be extended in September
The Central Bank will extend the restrictions on the issuance of cash currency in September. This was stated by the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina.
“About extending the restrictions that are valid until September 9. Unfortunately, there is no reason to believe that the situation with the flow of foreign currency into Russia will change for the better. In September, we will be forced to extend the restrictions that we introduced at the beginning of March,” Nabiullina said at a press conference following the meeting of the Board of Directors, broadcast on the Central Bank’s YouTube channel.
According to the head of the Central Bank, the decisions of unfriendly countries to ban the import of foreign currency into Russia remain in force. Citizens of the Russian Federation should have the right to receive from previously opened foreign currency accounts an amount within the established limit of 10 thousand.
