Biden’s meeting with Alberto Fernández

Biden’s Covid positive comes days before the bilateral meeting with the president Albert Fernandez, scheduled for next July 26 in Washington, in what would be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders following the exchanges they held in various international forums and summits.

The meeting between Biden and Fernández originated during a phone call in early June and following informal talks during the two leaders’ tour of Europe last month as part of the G7 summit.

Originally it had been agreed for July 25, but later it was postponed one day due to a request from the White House and it was moved to Tuesday the 26th. It is not ruled out that the date be maintained, since the mandatory isolation days will have passed.

The official delegation for that meeting will be made up of the Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakis, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Beliz, and the Ambassador to the United States, Jorge Argüello.
