It has now become a tradition that a picture of the birthday child of the British royal family is published on the occasion of the royal days of honor. These are usually photographed by Duchess Kate herself. For Prince George’s ninth birthday on July 22, she picked up her camera once more.

His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on July 22, 2013. The first child of Duchess Kate and Prince William (40) was born in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London. And now the number three in the line of succession to the British throne is already nine years old.

Where and how George will celebrate his day of honor is not officially known. The prince is currently on holiday with his parents and siblings Princess Charlotte (7) and Prince Louis (4) – allegedly at the family country house Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

Mama Kate uses ready-made baking mix for birthday cake

If there is a birthday party for George, then at least the decoration is taken care of: his grandmother Carol Middleton (67) finally runs the company “Party Pieces”, which specializes in decorative items.

Mama Kate serves the birthday cake herself. The Duchess has a passion for baking and always creates the cakes for her three children herself, as she once revealed on the BBC show “A Berry Royal Christmas”. She also revealed that she uses ready-made baking mixes. But there are no limits to the fun: “I love making the cake. It’s now a tradition that I stay up until midnight and use up a lot of batter and icing. But I love it,” revealed the 40-year-old.

A nine-year-old heir to the throne is also happy regarding gifts – and probably regarding those from his godparents Julia Samuel the most. Every year he gets a nonsensical toy from the 62-year-old, which – if possible – is difficult to assemble and makes a lot of noise, but has no educational use. This tradition was initiated by George’s late grandmother, Princess Diana, and her friend Julia has continued it ever since.
