Frankfurt ,New York A doubling of profits at the electric car maker tesla pushed the US stock exchanges on Thursday. After a weak start, the leading US index Dow Jones closed 0.5 percent higher at 32,036 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq advanced 1.4 percent to 12,059 jobs. The broad one S&P 500 climbed 0.9 percent to 3,998 points.
The company’s earnings may have been a little better than feared, said J. Bryant Evans, investment advisor and portfolio manager at Cozad Asset Management. “We investors think that the technology sector in particular has fallen too much and that there may be some good opportunities there.”
