Gaming fans and enthusiasts can expand their PS5 console’s high-speed storage starting this summer, with peace of mind that all of their settings are conveniently stored to get them in-game quickly and play more.
Gaming aficionados have plenty to play for this summer, which begins with its share of releases related to the entertainment industry: films, video games, cinema… In the video game sector, Western Digital, an American manufacturer of hard drives computer and data storage specialist, and Sony Interactive Entertainment, a multinational video game and digital entertainment company, are releasing the first officially licensed M.2 SSD storage solution for the PlayStation 5TM. A boon for players around the world, and in particular Moroccans, key players in a sector in perpetual effervescence.
Indeed, Sony’s PlayStation 5 suffers from a major flaw: it only has 667 GB of internal storage. “It may seem like a lot, but at a time when most AAA titles easily exceed 100 GB, it is therefore difficult to have more than 4 or 5 games on your console. And juggling the installations can quickly become tiring, especially if your Internet connection leaves something to be desired”, underlines a specialist. So the solution to this problem is to increase the storage space. If nothing filters for the moment on the price at which the solution will be marketed in Morocco, the leaders of Western Digital are full of praise for the storage solution. Contacted by Eco Inspirations, they point out that with “the WD_Black SN850 M.2 SSD for PS5, players can store and play PS5TM games as well as PS4™ games directly from the disc. The all-in-one heatsink SSD design also allows for simple installation. Gamers can reduce load times, thanks to PCIe® Gen4 technology, reaching up to 7000MB/s read speed to get in-game fast and play more.”
For PS5 consoles, the SSD storage solution allows gamers to expand their gaming console’s high-speed storage. So they can have peace of mind knowing all their favorite titles are stored on one hard drive that’s been tested. to support the most intensive gameplay of the PS5. This means that the solution is eagerly awaited.
A solution optimized for the latest console generation
Optimized for the latest console generation, Western Digital has validated the drive’s performance through multiple scenarios to certify it’s been fully tested for the PS5. “This process required hundreds of hours of rigorous testing with the most demanding titles in different genres, to ensure that the games stored on the disc are fast, smooth and visually immersive”, argue the two partners.
From Western Digital’s side, Susan Park, vice president of consumer solutions product management, cannot hide her joy for such a partnership: “We are delighted with this new project with Sony Interactive Entertainment and the opportunity to offer the disc under official license to PS5 players”. “Western Digital’s WD_Black brand was created to bring high-performance products to gamers around the world. Combined with this innovative partnership, we want to deepen our current commitment to developing storage solutions specifically designed to enhance the gaming experience for all gamers.”
