Death at 85 of Uwe Seeler, figure of post-war German football

Berlin (AFP) – Uwe Seeler, one of the greatest figures of post-war German football, died at the age of 85, announced Thursday the city of Hamburg where he spent most of his career.

“Hamburg mourns Uwe Seeler, he was the first top scorer in the Bundesliga (…) he has now died surrounded by his loved ones,” said the municipality of the Hanseatic city on its Twitter account.
