I was the cameraman in the climactic scene of the Chintamani murder case: Shaji Kailas
Chintamani Kolakase was directed by Shaji Kailas and starred Suresh Gopi as the lead. Shaji Kailas is now saying that he was the cameraman of the film’s climax scene. He was speaking in an interview given to Kanchanel Media.
He said that while shooting the last part of the film Chintamani Kolakase, I did the camera work and when the camera operators had difficulty shooting certain scenes, I used to take them and show them to them.
“When the camera operators have difficulty shooting certain scenes, I take them and show them. It must be because I learned with the camera. I don’t interfere in any of that. But if they’re cameramen in bad shape, I’ll take them and show them. Then you will say take one with you.
I did the camera while shooting the last part of the movie Chintamani Kolakase. Because it was a baby room. Shoot with a tele lens. The whole focus was out. Then I said, I will take it.
Only when they understand the scenes and dialogues exactly can they shoot. Sometimes they leave. But I know artistes say dialogue during this time. So I can do camera work,’ said Shaji Kailas.
Bhavana and Thilakan were the other actors in the Chintamani murder case. Suresh Gopi acted as a lawyer in the film. The story of the film revolved around the murder and investigation of an imagined character named Chintamani.
