The aerospace company Northrop Grumman and his agence Denstu Creative launch a outdoor campaign (OOH), right in the heart of Los Angeles and Washington. It’s hard to miss these huge images, taken by the James-Webb Space Telescope! Visuals that are sure to remind you of another well-known campaign: « Shot On iPhone » from Apple. And for good reason…
“Tour with the Webb Telescope”
Last week, the first images of the télescope spatial James-Webb have been published, giving as many people as possible a breathtaking, high-resolution glimpse of our cosmos. In particular, there is an impressive cloud of luminous and multicolored points. This is the first group of compact galaxies ever discovered! It is located in the constellation of Pegasus, 290 million light-years away.
The aerospace company Northrop Grumman – which built the famous telescope – is therefore taking the opportunity to speak! It is displayed in large numbers in the streets of Los Angeles and Washington, with Dentsu Creative. This campaign therefore highlights the new celestial images… by imitating the phenomenon « Shot On iPhone » d’Apple. Indeed, Dentsu Creative teases the American multinational and his famous challenge. As a reminder, this consists of submitting photos taken with the macro function of these phones (here, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max). Difficult to compete with the quality of the images of the James-Webb space telescope…
Passersby will also be able to read the following sentence: “Tour with the Webb Telescope”.
Note that according to a study by theOAAAA (Out of Home archyde news Association of America), les dépenses en outdoor increased by 40% in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the previous year. Far from being obsolete, these campaigns are increasingly creative and ambitious, like the one imagined by Dentsu Creative.
A gem of technology
Northrop Grumman also offers a interactive virtual experience on phones and computers! The idea? Allow everyone to discover the James-Webb space telescope and its various components. Needless to say, each of them is a technical feat. By way of example, we can mention the sun visor. When this is fully extended, it extends a distance approximately equal to the size… of a tennis court. Finally, it is also possible to take advantage of this fun experience via interactive terminals, installed in Union Station in Washington.
Denstu Creative is part of the dentsu group.
