40 degrees have indeed been reached in Belgium: here are the highest values ​​recorded in our country

The heat was intense, this Tuesday, July 19, in Belgium. Rated as the third “hottest” daynever recorded in Belgium since 1892, this Tuesday saw the thermometer reach 40 degrees in Kapelle-Op-Den-Bos, confirmed meteorologist David Dehenauw. The threshold has therefore been exceeded, as predicted by certain weather forecasts.

According to the climatological network, here are the other places where it was hottest on Tuesday July 19: Begijnendijk (39.8 degrees), Molenbeek-Saint-Jean (39.6 degrees), Moere (39.5 degrees), St-Pieters-Rode (39.5 degrees), Zele+Wevelgem+Lauwe+Dilbeek (39.4 degrees), Lichtervelde (39.3 degrees).

The red alert is therefore not verifiedto within 0.5-1 degree”, explained Mr. Dehenauw on Twitter. “It was said yesterday that it was a borderline case, which is switched to orange following verification.”
