Dr. Gad Al-Qadi, head of the National Institute of Astronomy and Geophysical Research, said that a black hole is a place in the galaxy, with a strong gravitational pull that devours any space body or celestial body, whether star or planet.
He added, during a telephone interview with the “New Egypt” program, presented by the media, Engy Anwar, on the “etc” screen, on Wednesday evening, that there are many questions that are raised regarding whether there is one or more black holes in the galaxy, explaining that scientists can reach a conclusion. That there are an unlimited number of holes.
He pointed out that the talk that the discovered black hole is “inert” is still being studied, explaining that there is a lot of information that is being confirmed.
He pointed out that today, Wednesday, is the 53rd anniversary of man’s landing on the moon, as the first manned boat landing was in 1969.
A number of scientists have discovered a dormant black hole in a neighboring galaxy for the first time, using the very large telescope of the European Southern Observatory (ESO).
According to CNN, it is difficult to identify black holes with inert stellar mass, which form when massive stars reach the end of their lives; Because it does not interact much with its surroundings.
Unlike most other black holes, inert holes do not emit high levels of X-rays and do not gobble up material near them with their gravity.
While these dormant holes are believed to be a fairly common cosmic phenomenon, they have not been “discovered or observed before outside our galaxy,” according to the team of American and European researchers involved in the study.
