Spain: three gored dead in bull run

The release of bulls, a tradition in Spain especially during the summer, when many villages celebrate their patron saint, regularly claim victims in the country, despite the implementation of protocols intended to avoid this type of accident.

The most famous bull runs take place every year as part of San Fermin in Pamplona (north), where hundreds of runners try to get as close as possible to six fighting bulls during an 850-meter race in the cobbled streets of the city.

This year, a total of five people were gored during the festivities, which ended on July 14, but none were seriously injured. Since data collection began in 1911, however, at least 16 runners have lost their lives.
