This memorandum, signed by the director of operations within MASEN, Rachid Bayed and the chief general manager of NTPC, Narinder Mohan Gupta in the presence of the ambassador of Morocco in India, Mr. Mohamed Maliki, aims mainly to strengthen the capacities in the field of renewable energies, indicates a press release from MASEN.
The memorandum initialed on the sidelines of the 17th edition of the “CII-Exim Bank Conclave on the India-Africa Growth Partnership” aims to pool the experience and expertise of MASEN and NTPC, particularly in the field of research and development and to explore common opportunities for the development of renewable energy projects in Africa, adds the same source.
Created in 2010, MASEN is responsible for piloting renewable energies in Morocco. Through its projects, the Agency contributes to the national objective of reaching +52% share of renewable energy in the Moroccan electricity mix by 2030.
At the end of 2021, 4,109 MW are in operation in wind, hydraulic and solar power. The MASEN Group places the development of renewable resources at the heart of its strategy, to create an inexhaustible force for economic, social and environmental development for Morocco and beyond.
