If the NBA Playoffs are logically in the news at the moment, let’s not forget that the 2022 Draft is slowly but surely approaching. The Lottery is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 and the big ceremony will take place on June 23 near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But before that, there will be the traditional Draft Combine bringing together the best prospects of the moment. With French in the lot!
What is the NBA Draft Combine anyway?
A little reminder for those who are not too familiar with the Draft and more specifically the Combine: the latter brings together the best youngsters who wish or at least plan to attend the big ceremony in June. Individual tests, measurement of physical and athletic abilities, shooting exercises, scrimmages in five- once morest-five… the Combine allows prospects to gauge themselves once morest the competition as well as NBA teams to closely observe each kid. Scouts and coaches can thus have a better idea of the potential of each player, but also form a clearer opinion on the personality of the latter through one-on-one interviews. As you can imagine, the Combine is a major step towards the Draft, with some taking advantage of the event to boost their odds while others are disappointing observers.
When and where does it happen?
This year’s NBA Draft Combine will take place from Monday May 16 to Sunday May 22. A big week therefore, during which the main prospects will meet on the Chicago side to pass these various tests. The event will take place specifically at the Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis.
