The Minister of Culture, Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada, praised the artistic painting “The Sea Skyscraper – Beirut” by the engineer, Layal Fares, who visited him in his office in the Sanayeh Palace. “The painting consists of 5 colors that belong to the engraving of the Lebanese army’s uniform.”
Fares says: “The painting includes the basic elements of the homeland: the Lebanese currency, a symbol of renaissance and stability, the cedar is a symbol of Lebanon, the soldier is a symbol of honor, sacrifice and loyalty, the army suit is a symbol of homeland and security, the dove is a symbol of peace, the cross and the crescent is a symbol of religions, the sky is a symbol of supreme authority, and the stars are a symbol of hope. And victory, the letter M is the symbol of the martyrs (Martyrs) and the sea is the symbol of the resurrection of Beirut.
The painting includes 500 coins of the old Lebanese pound made of silver that were kept by Fares following the martyrdom of her father, the first assistant in the Lebanese army, Marwan Fares, in the war of October 13, 1990 in Deir al-Qalaa.
