“An unprecedented level of uncertainty” in energy
The Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) held a press conference on Wednesday.
“There is an unprecedented level of uncertainty in Europe” on energy supply, said Wednesday Benoît Revaz, director of the Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). Prices are strongly impacted by the war in Ukraine and Switzerland is not spared.
Several measures
In addition to the emergency parachute for energy companies, which still has to be adopted by Parliament, Benoît Revaz cited a campaign to raise public awareness of energy savings. A platform will be available at the end of August.
The official recalled that a solidarity agreement was being negotiated with Germany on the supply of gas and that discussions were regarding to begin in this area with Italy. The Confederation also works with gas operators to ensure reserves for the winter. Discussions are also taking place in the hydraulic field.
