If you have been using Windows for a while, we all have a common need to make and receive calls from Windows computers. I remember the software deployed by OEMs, which partially allowed it as well as access to photos, contacts, backup, etc. Microsoft has realized this dream with an integrated solution: the Phone Link application. In this article, we will explain how to configure and use calls in the Application Phone Link. In case you missed it, the The Your Phone app is now called the Phone Link app in Windows 11 and Windows 10.

We will talk regarding setting up the call, making a call and also troubleshooting in case the calling feature is not working with the Phone Link app.
- Configuration de l’application Phone Link
- Make a call from a Windows computer
- Troubleshoot calls with Your phone App.
Before proceeding, make sure of these:
- Make sure the Phone Link app, both on Windows 11/10, and your Android smartphone is on the latest version. Microsoft removed the calling feature last month, and it only appeared following a recent update. If you still don’t see it, go to Settings > Apps & features > Phone link > Advanced options > Reset /& > End.
- You need Bluetooth on your Windows 10 for this to work. If you have a traditional Windows 11/10 desktop, add an external Bluetooth adapter.
- Windows 10 May 2019 Update or higher on your PC with Bluetooth and Android 7.0 and higher.
Although the images may indicate the Your Phone app, the procedure is the same in the Phone Link app.
1]Configuration de l’application Phone Link
- Launch the application on the computer. If you have multiple phones connected to your PC, you will be prompted to set one as default.
- Once done, click on calls or the dial pad icon on the left side of the app.
- It will then ask you to establish a connection with your phone.
- Click on the Start button and allow the app to make phone calls. Click the Yes button.
- The next screen will ask you to send the authorization to your Android phone. You will need to access contacts and recent call logs to view them on the app.
- You should get a permission prompt for call logs. Let this.
With that done, you should now see recently made calls (last 90 days) and a dial pad in the calls section.
2]Make a call from Phone Link app in Windows 11/10
- Click the dial pad icon or the call icon
- Then you can either use the dial pad to type in a number or click on the contact to place a call.
- When you click on the recently dialed contact, you will be given the option to make a call or send an SMS
- Click the call icon and it will instantly place a call.
- Your phone will turn on and if unlocked, it will look like a call was made through a Bluetooth headset.
- You will be able to hear the audio on your PC, and if you have a microphone, you can talk to the person on the other side or mute them.
For incoming calls, you will receive a notification near the focus assistant. You can choose to decline, send a message or answer the call. When receiving, you can seamlessly switch between PC and phone or use the on-screen option to do so.
For now, there is no way to delete call logs from the app, no conference calls, putting a call on hold, etc. Finally, you can make an emergency call, but remember that it works via Bluetooth, and if there is a disconnect there is a risk of miscommunication. So be sure to use the actual phone instead.
