Royals are shaking: Does the new book “Revenge” reveal the true face of Duchess Meghan?
A new work of literature regarding the British royal family is coming out this week. In it, author Tom Bower relies on interviews with insiders who have never spoken before.
Investigative books regarding the British royal family are now a dime a dozen. The latest copy will be released on Thursday and bears the sonorous title “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors”. Author and investigative journalist Tom Bower (75) reveals a lot regarding the British Royals. In particular, Duchess Meghan should, according to “The Mirror” beware.
Queen was glad Meghan didn’t come
For the British monarch, it must have been the hardest day of her life when she buried her beloved husband Prince Philip. On April 17, 2021, the Duke of Edinburgh bid farewell to all family members at Windsor Castle. Only Duchess Meghan stayed away because of her pregnancy. Much to Queen Elizabeth’s delight, as author Tom Bower writes in his book.
“Thank God Meghan isn’t coming,” the 96-year-old is said to have said to her servants before the funeral, according to Bower. The palace itself wanted to claim according to the «Sun» do not express. To the “TelegraphHowever, according to one, there are doubts as it is questionable whether the Queen focused on anything other than her late husband that day.
Meghan’s hysterical phone call over ‘Vanity Fair’ cover story
When the now-Duchess of Sussex got the chance to appear on the cover of Vanity Fair in September 2017, she was “ecstatic”. But her mood soon deteriorated drastically. Why: The title was She’s Just Wild About Harry and the magazine didn’t focus on her work as an activist and philanthropist. According to excerpts from Tom Bower’s book in The Sun, Meghan was incredibly angry at her PR agency Sunshine Sachs – and Buckingham Palace at her.
Tom Bower wrote in his book: “Sunshine Sachs had requested that the magazine fulfill Meghan’s concern to portray her as a philanthropist and activist without addressing one problem: Vanity Fair’s painstaking research failed to find evidence of her global philanthropy and activism .»
Prince Harry’s friends think he’s hypocritical
The reveal book states that Harry invited Meghan to his hunting weekend at Sandringham in 2016 – shortly following the couple’s relationship became public. Also present were 16 of Harry’s friends from Eton. The 37-year-old is said to have been looking forward to “endless banter, jokes and conversations”. However, Meghan is said to have been less than impressed and “rejected any guest who violated her values”. The reason: Harry and his friends joked regarding “feminism and sexism” and the 40-year-old is said to have “reprimanded” each of the guests if they made “inappropriate comments”.
Then Harry’s colleagues are said to have left out the Duchess: “She lacked any sense of humor. ‘OMG, what regarding her?’ wrote one in a joint chat group. ‘Harry must be fucking crazy’, another one,” the book says.
Meghan’s airs and Diana’s magic
When Meghan’s agent in 2015 – when the 37-year-old was still a relatively unknown actress – organized her an endorsement deal with Canada’s largest women’s clothing store Reitmans, she wasn’t happy. According to Bower, “Meghan longed more to be the face of Ralph Lauren.”
While filming the campaign for Reitmans, the production team reportedly “avoided eye contact with Meghan” because she “complained” that the “tea was the wrong blend,” the “vegan juice was warm,” and the hotel’s bathrobe and slippers ” not Dior». In front of the camera, however, Meghan “turned into a warm and glamorous icon”.
The book also addresses Harry and Meghan’s 16-day tour of Australia. As Bower wrote: “The Sussexes had convinced themselves that their success in Australia had blessed them with Diana’s magic.”
