completely separate from the projection area.

“The exhibition allows visitors a sensory and emotional journey accompanying the life of the artist starting from his beginnings in the Netherlands, then to cross the influences of Impressionism in Paris, before the destination of the south of France, in Arles, towards the light and the colors of Provence…” say the organizers.

“This experience presents itself as an impossible museumcapable of reviving art in the movements and vibrant colors of the Dutch paintera unique opportunity to see the complete and sometimes tormented work of the artist”we are told… In recent years, the debate has been lively around these immersive experiences, with some seeing them more as entertainment than an approach to art…

However, as pointed out Julia Luczak-Rougeaux (editor-in-chief at TOM-Travel) in Immersive experiences at the service of culture, “Immersion generates emotions that allow you to better retain the information that will have been provided. But you still have to receive it. These experiences are, in any case, a good introduction to the work of an artist, to the visit of a monument, to the enrichment of already existing content. They must not exist alone, but allow as many people as possible to access Culture.”

A fair balance between immersion and pedagogy

And this is what Van Gogh – The Immersive Experience which stands as a benchmark for the future of immersive experiences, notably using multiple technologies combined with more traditional approaches, inspired by museums. Offering the right balance between immersion and education, to create a new form of cultural entertainment.

. The first, kept at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, was executed in October 1888 and damaged during a flood that occurred during the painter’s hospitalization in Arles. About a year later, the latter therefore undertook to make two copies: one, of the same size, is now kept at the Art Institute of Chicago; the other, that of the Musée d’Orsay, made for his family in Holland, is smaller in size. https://www.musee-orsay.fr/fr/oeuvres/la-chambre-de-van-gogh-arles-746 This experience is the result of a collaboration between the teams of Exhibition Hubet Fever .
