On the occasion of the season Utopia de lille3000, le Natural History Museum of Lille will question our relationship to nature and will offer the vision of possible new modes of society celebrating the biodiversity. Thus, you will be able to: realize, of sensitive way et collaborative, of the different perceptions who exist in nature, and so see the World through the eyes of animals, with the Zooscope; get to know the Blob, cet unicellular living being, neither animal, nor vegetable, nor fungus, belonging to the family of amoebas, raised in the Museum and showing a form of unexpected intelligence…; discover an exhibition-dossier honoring the scientific representation work of the extinct tree species, with in particular the discovery of the illustration works of Madeleine Aimé. Of the meetings, evenings et workshops will also come illustrate these themes and will allow you to think differently regarding tomorrow, et envision a world where the human is reconciled with the living.

Guided tour, the biodiversity of yesterday and today
From the biodiversity of the past to that of today, this guided tour offers an awareness of this very topical theme. Through its collections, the museum wants to be a key place to raise everyone’s awareness of the challenges of protecting and balancing this biodiversity.

Ferns… a forest! – Adult-child duo workshop (children aged 3 to 6)
In connection with the exhibition of drawings by the scientific illustrator Madeleine Aime, creates a composition using fern prints, inspired by Carboniferous forests! You can even bring back leaves that you picked yourself!

Discover the film that gave Physarum polycephalum its famous nickname “Blob”. Very representative of American horror cinema of the 1950s, this independent film was also a drive-in classic, with Steve McQueen in one of his first film roles. (Re)discover this film with kindly kitsch special effects, although impressive for the time!
Synopsis
A meteorite crashes a few kilometers from the city of Downingtown. Curious to see what she looks like, Steve Andrews and Jane Martin come running. If they find a still smoking crater, they quickly realize that the rock from outer space contained a monster, a slimy and hungry entity whose rapid growth soon poses a threat to all inhabitants of the region.
