The revamped “Queen of Operetta” opens the 28th season of the Steyr Music Festival with a world premiere. Fresh dialogues and a new musical production herald a new operetta era from July 21 to August 6, 2022.

After numerous celebrated musical productions, this year, for the first time in many years, there is an operetta on the schedule of the popular music festival. With “Die Fledermaus – Reloaded in Janoska Style” artistic director Karl-Michael Ebner dares to stage a new production of none other than the “Queen of Operetta”. Musically rearranged and spiced up from scratch by the celebrated Janoska Ensemble, it presents itself with new vigor shortly before its 150th anniversary and celebrates its world premiere in Steyr. With surprising visual effects and a modern stage design, the Steyrer Schlossgraben once once more defends its reputation as probably the most beautiful open-air stage in the country.
