Former Haas F1 Team driver Nikita Mazepin returns to motorsport. He won the Silk Way Rally T3 class.

Nikita Mazepin participated in a 10-day rally raid event in one of the classes included in the Dakar Rallyfield, an SSV (side-by-side) vehicle, and won the return to motorsport.

Russian-born Nikita Mazepin was fired from the Haas F1 Team shortly before this season following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine banned Russian-licensed drivers from participating in the FIA’s international competition.

Nikita Mazepin, who returned to motorsport last week, took the lead on the podium in a completely different category than his previous career.

“Compared to F1 cars, all they have in common is the steering wheel and four wheels. It was a very hot, very challenging and realistic test,” Nikita Mazepin told TASS.

“It was a great experience and I want to do it once more. The 10 days offroad left an unforgettable impression. During the rally we had a lot with the team. It was very intense. It was like a month. I felt like that. “

“It’s important to mention that this is not only my success, but also the victory of the entire team who did a great job in the car every night.”

“I understand what a rally marathon is, but I’m not giving up on a career in top-level motorsport.”

Nikita Mazepin recently said he was “confident” that a return to F1 would be possible in the near future, but is currently in a legal battle with the Haas F1 Team.
