Emirates News Agency – ADNOC and Total Energy sign a strategic partnership agreement

PARIS, 19th July, WAM/ The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Total Energy have signed a strategic partnership agreement to enhance long-term cooperation between the two companies and explore new growth opportunities in all areas of the oil and gas value chain.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC” and its group of companies, and Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of Total Energy, as part of a state visit by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to France.

The two companies will explore opportunities to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including increasing gas production, carbon capture, use and storage, trade and product supply, and others.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said: “In line with the wise leadership’s directives to build bridges of cooperation and build strategic partnerships that contribute to achieving the maximum possible value from ADNOC’s business in various fields and aspects of the oil and gas sector, the signing of this agreement with Total Energy, which As a long-term strategic partner, to contribute to strengthening cooperation in the energy field between the UAE and France, as this agreement will contribute to accelerating growth and creating more opportunities that create sustainable value for the two friendly countries and the two companies.

We look forward to working with Total Energy, which is one of our oldest partners, to take advantage of the opportunities offered by this agreement along the value chain, to contribute to ensuring energy security and provide sufficient energy supplies at reasonable costs for the UAE, France and all countries of the world.”

Total Energy is ADNOC’s largest international partner, working in the oil and gas sector in Abu Dhabi since 1939, and its partnerships with ADNOC cover all areas of the sector.

For his part, Patrick Pouyanneh said: “We are pleased to sign this agreement, which confirms Total Energy’s interest in expanding the areas of strategic cooperation in the energy field with the UAE, and in strengthening and expanding the partnership with ADNOC, our long-term partner. It covers all areas of the energy value chain, uniting the capabilities and capabilities of the two companies to contribute to providing the global energy markets with an adequate supply of energy with the lowest level of emissions from our operations.”

This agreement comes following the signing of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in the field of energy between the UAE and France, which focuses on enhancing energy security and providing it at reasonable costs, reducing emissions, in addition to promoting effective climate action in preparation for the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP28” to be held in the UAE in 2023.

Total Energy cooperates closely with ADNOC in implementing several projects along the value chain, including offshore and onshore oil and gas exploration and production, natural gas processing and liquefaction, product marketing, research and development, and training and development of national talent.
