Le Petit Monsieur puts burlesque in the spotlight

“Show in freedom” is placed this week under the sign of the Little Gentleman. After his setbacks with a phone booth, the Little Gentleman continues his exploration of modern times with Two seconds. What would Pandora’s box contain today, if not one of these new objects that have invaded our daily lives? Technologically brilliant, incredibly comfortable, but so sneaky…

Paul Durand, still stuck in his three-piece suit, will find out the hard way… Still without a word, for all audiences and burlesque, this is the continuation of the adventures of the Little Gentleman, which began in Le Grand-Bornand in 2008.

Amandine Barrillon and Ivan Chary created the Petit Monsieur company in 1998 and track down the incongruous in everyday life. Having fun with the little misadventures that turn everyone into a clown in spite of himself.

To fight once morest a sly modernity, to party seriously without pretending to renew a genre whose masters are called Chaplin, the Mikos, George Carl, they are inspired by these banal circumstances and gently tip them into burlesque.

Program of free shows, at 7 p.m.: tuesday july 19 in front of the Jean Balladur convention center; wednesday 20 at Ponant; thursday 21 at Point Zéro and Friday 22 at Couchant.
