The fact that the Antonivka Bridge is still standing makes people shake their heads in Kyiv. It makes it possible to cross the Dnieper River in the south of the country near the city of Cherson – the Russian invaders did the same and took Cherson quickly following the start of the war. Not blowing up the bridge to stop the advance is one of the mistakes attributed to Ivan Bakanov and his agency, Ukraine’s internal intelligence agency SBU.
