Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 18th (local time) that it had signed a business agreement with Rolls-Royce, a British aircraft engine manufacturer, at the Farnborough Air Show in England.
On this day, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and AAM general manager Shin Jae-won (CEO) and others toured the booth with Warren East, the CEO of Rolls-Royce, who visited the Supernal booth, boarded the newly unveiled UAM interior concept mockup, and signed the business agreement. .
Rolls-Royce is a British aircraft engine company established in 1906 and possesses cutting-edge technologies in aerospace, military, energy, and ship fields.
Through this agreement, the two companies will carry out joint research until 2025 on the hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system and battery propulsion system of RAM developed by Hyundai Motor Group, and the battery propulsion system of UAM being developed by Supernull.
Hyundai Motor Group believes that this agreement will allow hydrogen fuel cell technology to be extended to the aviation industry in the future, and is expected to contribute to achieving the aviation industry’s goal of zeroing aircraft emissions by 2050.
