We will run downtown with the wheel.. Launching the first phase of the “Cairo Bike” project in Cairo

Cairo Governorate, in cooperation with the United Nations Program, launched the “Cairo Bike” project in the streets of downtown Cairo to motivate citizens to use bicycles, reduce dependence on private cars and taxis, and reduce congestion in the city center.

The first phase includes 26 stations with a total of 250 bicycles equipped with tracking devices GPSThe cost of renting an hour is EGP and the whole day is EGP 8, with the possibility of paying through an electronic application or through prepaid cards.

The new grading system is characterized by linking it to an electronic system supported by a mobile application, and grades supported byGBS In order for the bike to be tracked and to prevent its theft, and to enable the system to calculate the time and distance traveled by the bike, the hourly cost will be calculated at one pound, and the payment will be made using a prepaid card.

The bicycle stations work with solar energy and air internet to support mobile application services and electronic payment services for the cost of cycling, and the bicycle sharing system is the technology of placing bicycles in stations throughout the city that enables its residents and pilgrims to rent bicycles from place (A) and then leave the bike in place (B). It is a proven system to encourage the use of non-motorized transportation.
