Much was discussed in advance, many possibilities were explored. In the end, instead of a cup game in front of a full house, there was a ghost game. A solution that nobody might really be satisfied with. SV Telfs and Austria faced each other in front of a very limited backdrop, only the Telfer stewards and essential staff were allowed.
The purple supporters, around 150 who followed the team to Tyrol despite the ban on spectators, found a place on a slope adjacent to the safety zone. From there, the team was supported for 90 minutes.
Good start, few goals
Austria had a lot of good moments right from the start, but the last pass usually didn’t work. Everything worked once, the ball wriggled in the net, but the goal didn’t count because of an offside position. It was goalless at the break, a fair score.
Furious following the break
After the break, the violets really got going, the last pass often found the teammate. Marco Hödl made things clear with a double strike in minutes 54 and 57. Schwaighofer, who came on for new signing Darko Boricic ten minutes following the break, made the preliminary decision 3-0 in the 67th minute.

Shortly therefollowing, Austria keeper Kalman even prevented the goal with a feat.
Fortunately, Austria got the game under control once more and brought the victory over time. The finish was somewhat clouded by the yellow-red card once morest Florian Wiedl, who had already been substituted. Referee Zeljko Kojadinovic supposedly recognized criticism of the referee team.
“We played well for seventy minutes, then unfortunately not anymore,” said coach Christian Schaider following the game. “Nevertheless, a good performance for the first game of the season.”
