NNA – The town of Yanta in Rashaya district was buried for the slain Tariq Mahmoud Zidan and Yahya Kamil Alaeddin, who were killed two days ago by bullets left while they were in the Shaqqara area in the outskirts of the town of Yanta.
The mass funeral ceremony in the town’s public hall was attended by a member of the “Democratic Gathering” bloc, MP Wael Abu Faour, sheikhs, clerics, personalities and actors.
Speaking at the funeral on behalf of the people of Yanta, the educator, Rabie al-Halabi, affirmed, “We will not allow our youth to be martyrs of treachery and a livelihood.” It is striving to dust off the dust so that the truth can be clearly revealed, and we are ready under any circumstances to stand behind it, offering all the required coordination and action, sacrificing all the money so that this tragedy does not recur.
And there was a speech by the Mayor of Yanta, Dr. Khaled Al-Hakim, who said: “What is happening in Yanta makes us put everything in question, and here we ask our judiciary, which we trust, where have the investigations into past painful events become? We trust the Lebanese army and our security and military services in particular, and if What is happening on the borders calls for our national army to have the final say in preserving our security and stability. Before the last farewell, in the name of the residents and expatriates of the town, we demand the judicial, security and military agencies and all those concerned to uncover the perpetrators and the circumstances of this heinous crime that our safe town is not accustomed to, and we call for the utmost Efforts to keep Yanta safe, dear and inclusive, by controlling the borders and preventing malicious strangers from entering our town to tamper with our security and social peace.
Then there were speeches by Sheikh Yusef Al-Rafi’, the imam of the town of Beka, the former mayor of Yanta, Nabil Al-Halabi, the retired colonel Mansour Ashti, and a poem by the poet Nazih Abu Zour.

Abu Faour gave a speech in which he said: “Yanta, which with all its variations, belongs to the same thing, which is the affiliation of love, morals, care and adherence to the law. You deserve beautiful patience, may God help you in this calamity, and you do not deserve, Brother Kamil, this calamity Yahya the young man whose virtues the tongues of creation uttered.”
He added: “Yanta, which sank into the depths of geography, went to the far corners of Canada and overseas in search of a livelihood and dignity. In all the events that have passed, Yanta was never anything but keen on order and security, and unfortunately, for a while, it witnessed many unfortunate events.” Beginning with the murder of the slain young man, Yahya Yahya, then God’s peace and providence, the young Uday Abu Qalfouni in the middle of the town, then this crime came today, which confirms that what is happening is no longer a passing matter, but rather enters the door of organized and purposeful crime.
He continued: “Yata on the border and all border villages in Lebanon are living similar conditions, but this series of organized killing is time to know who is responsible for it. We have great confidence in the Lebanese Army, and the Lebanese Army in the person of its commander, General Joseph Aoun, and in the person of its Chief of Staff, Major General Amin al-Aram. And in the person of his officers working in this region, every time this matter was raised, he received the utmost attention.We are on the borders and we know what they have today as a result of the economic and social conditions that the country is going through, but we are Lebanese citizens in a Lebanese land and region with Lebanese affiliation, and we are the responsibility of the Lebanese state. We are not the responsibility of any other party.The investigations must reach a conclusion and the serious investigations by the army, which we trust, in its leadership, in its efforts and in its tireless work to protect this area, and the choice of the army leadership to establish a permanent headquarters for the command of the border regiment in Yanta in particular was only a clear desire from the army leadership and a feeling responsibility towards this area to protect it and its people, but the investigations took a long time and must reveal the killer.There are killings and there are killers, whoever the killer is and whatever the circumstances of the killing, and it is not permissible to stop at some Statements disavowing that Tariq is behind on the service. Tariq is honored to belong to the state security apparatus, which we appreciate, and if Tariq failed to serve him, then he has failed to fulfill his citizenship, his affiliation, and the responsibility of all the security services, towards all the people of the region.”
And he added: “I spoke with the chief of staff, who spoke with the army commander, as the area needs a different military security plan, and they promised to take all measures that guarantee this matter. We have full confidence in the army and the security services that we resort to to put an end to this criminal chain. This region is Lebanese and the responsibility for security It is the responsibility of the Lebanese military and security services.
Abu Faour concluded: “Our people in Yanta know the extent of the affection that I have for the people of this village, to which I am honored to belong to the origin of my origins. What harms them, and this is our social responsibility, and we know the conditions and the suffering, and this is the responsibility of the state and those responsible to end the suffering of the citizens.It is the responsibility of the political leaders to stop manipulating statements, counter-statements and arguments that one party throws at the other, we need an economic and social rescue and a government and a president to get out of this Economic Tunnel.
