Members of the Terre Univers association used to organize events for the public and for children during the open days they organize every quarter and on the first Tuesday of the month. This year, they have decided to organise, for the first time, a three-day astronomy festival to share their passion and introduce as many people as possible to their knowledge of the universe. A successful bet thanks to good organization and the variety of activities on offer.
Manufacture of water rockets with parachutes, paper rockets, solar charts, sundials and a solar system, these workshops brought together many children on Saturday and Sunday followingnoons on the site of the observatory as well as in the village hall. Raymond Sadin, manager and animator of the itinerant Planetarium of the Léo-Lagrange Centre-Est regional establishment, knew how to transport the public and tickle their curiosity in the planetarium. As for the three conferences on black holes, astronomy and mythology, and the search for extraterrestrial life, they brought together a hundred spectators. At nightfall, the observation of the sky might be done at the observatory on the association’s equipment in optimum conditions thanks to the mild weather. The children, but also the adults, had answers to their questions and…stars in their eyes. For Stéphane Sol, vice-president of the association and very involved in the preparation of this festival: “We’ll do it once more, that’s for sure, and I would like to thank the fifteen volunteers who made it possible for this festival to take place in the best conditions, passionate people who want to share their knowledge.s”. For those who might not come to the festival, all Tuesdays in July and August, Terre univers offers you from 8:30 p.m. a conference for adults, workshops for children and observations of the sky.
