Kuwaiti artist Assad Mahmoud Assad Hussein, one of the artists of the pioneering generation in the Gulf country, died yesterday, Saturday, following a long struggle with cancer, at the age of 85.
The relatives of the late also mourned their relative, who participated in prominent works alongside a group of the most famous stars of Kuwait.
The late artist was born in 1937. He is an actor, director, producer, and one of the founders of the Arab Theater Troupe. He is married and has several children, including Adel and the athlete Ali Asad.

The wife of the artist, Assad Mahmoud, comes from an artistic family, as she is the niece of the late artist Abdel Hussein Abdel Reda.
The late artist began his artistic life since the sixties of the last century, as he participated in acting in many prominent television works, in addition to his participation in theatrical works and television dramas, as well as his participation in the production and directing of works of art.
The late artist also stood alongside well-known artists in Kuwait, including Saad Al-Faraj, the late artist Abdul-Hussein Abdul-Rida, Suad Abdullah, Hayat Al-Fahd, Ibrahim Al-Salal, the late artist Khaled Al-Nafisi, and the late artist Taiba Al-Faraj.

His artistic career includes dozens of works, including prominent television series, some of which are still shown today, the most famous of which is the comedy series “Darb Al-Zalaq”, which is one of the most prominent Gulf series, which was shown on most Arab television stations and was produced in 1977.
The late artist embodied the role of the guard in the appraisal committee in this work, which included a group of the most famous artists in Kuwait, headed by Abdul-Hussein Abdul-Ridha, Saad Al-Faraj, Ali Al-Mufidi, Khaled Al-Nafisi and others.
In addition to his participation in other series, including the series “Destinies”, and the series “Qased Khair, and the boy of dreams, and they hate love, predestination, diving, heir, and the game of days.”
The artist Assad also participated in the management of a number of plays, including the play “This Sifouh”, “The Protector of Homes”, and “Abu Saleh’s House”.
