According to the Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters, there were 4342 new confirmed cases nationwide as of 00:00 on the same day. The cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 18,761,757.
Although the number of new cases decreased by 968 from the previous day (41,310), the ‘doubling’ phenomenon, in which the number of new confirmed cases doubled within a week, continued.
As of Sunday alone, it is the highest record in 12 weeks since April 24 (64,696 people). On Sunday, as the number of tests decreases, the number of confirmed cases tends to decrease.
The number of new confirmed cases on this day was 1.98 times the number of the previous 10 days (20,397) a week ago and 4.02 times the number of three days (1046 people) two weeks ago.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 was 14, two fewer than the previous day. The cumulative death toll was 24,742, and the cumulative fatality rate of COVID-19 was 0.13%.
