Italian outlet Firenze Today claims that staff found the woman covered in blood wandering the hotel corridor looking for help. The man is believed to have died of a heart attack.
The media also reported that 118 health professionals were present at the venue.
A witness spoke to the newspaper and said: “The woman had raised the alarm following a chambermaid knocked on the door, but some of the guests had already contacted reception to report screaming and banging in the room.”
The local magistrate, Ester Nocera, opened an investigation into the death and was present at the scene speaking with witnesses.
