Seytenga: 4,000,000 FCFA mobilized to relieve 160 IDPs

Dori, (AIB)-One hundred and sixty internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the municipality of Seytenga, received on Friday July 15, 2022 in Dori, food and clothing items worth approximately 4,000 000 FCFA.

This donation is the result of the operation “coup of compassion for Seytenga”, initiated by the deputy to the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT), the Honorable Hama Sambaré Dicko.

On the night of June 11 to 12, 2022, the municipality of Seytenga experienced particularly violent and deadly attacks by unidentified armed groups.

These attacks caused around 100 civilian and military casualties and thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

According to Alassane Abdouramane, representing the donor, “it is in the face of this humanitarian disaster and with a view to relieving the populations in distress, that the Honorable Hama Sambaré Dicko launched the initiative called the compassionate coup for Seytenga”.

To listen to Mr. Abdouramane, the objective of this operation is to “bring together the sons and daughters of the Sahel for a combination of efforts and mobilization of funds to come to the aid of the vulnerable populations of Seytenga”.

This special operation made it possible to mobilize foodstuffs (millet, maize, rice, oil, salt, soap) and clothing, kitchen utensils, all estimated at more than four million CFA francs.

The donor’s representative warmly thanked the individuals who made their hearts speak and the Association NODE NOOTO (A2N) and the Association M’BALLA SAHEL for their invaluable contributions.

On behalf of the governor of the Sahel region, the secretary general, Inoussa Kaboré, while welcoming this gesture, said that this donation comes in addition to the efforts already made by the government and its partners.

He asked the populations to be resilient and the sons and daughters of the region to perpetuate this chain of woven solidarity.

For the beneficiary Hama Dicko, this gift is a source of joy and relief.

Because “we arrived at Dori without any effect, even our shoes, we didn’t have them. We thank the donors very much,” he concluded.

Beneficiary Aissatou Yacouba asked God to reward donors a hundredfold.

“I pray to God to protect us and build the capacity of donors,” she added.
