Racing cyclist († 34) dies following a collision with a car
A collision occurred between a 34-year-old racing cyclist and a passenger car in Oetwil an der Limmat on Saturday followingnoon. The cyclist was seriously injured and died at the scene of the accident.

Shortly following 12.30 p.m., a 34-year-old man was riding his racing bike down the Hüttikerstrasse towards Oetwil an der Limmat ZH. At the same time, a 47-year-old driver drove in the direction of Hüttikon, according to the Zurich cantonal police.
For currently unexplained reasons, there was a violent, side-frontal collision between the bicycle handlebars and the car in a right-hand bend. The cyclist suffered serious injuries in the accident and died at the scene of the accident.
Driver taken to hospital in shock
The driver of the car suffered shock and was taken to the hospital to be checked. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been clarified and is being investigated by the Zurich cantonal police and the Limmmattal/Albis public prosecutor’s office.
